We are looking for highly enthusiastic, customer-focused and flexible individuals who will thrive on providing help and assistance to all library customers whilst working co-operatively within a team environment. The post sits within the Customer Services team of Library Services, which is a key division of the Students & Education Directorate. All staff within the King's College London Students & Education Directorate commit to consistently providing a quality service, in line with our values: ‘Responsive, inclusive, knowledgeable and friendly. This role will involve providing the Roving Service, helping and assisting all library users throughout the library, maintaining the library environment and equipment, as well as assisting with duties undertaken across Library Services. Candidates should enjoy working with people and be keen to work in a customer-focused role that spends a large proportion of time interacting with customers.
You will have a proven ability to deliver a customer-focused service, excellent communication skills, a proactive commitment to continual development and a reliable, flexible and positive attitude to work.
Due to the service nature of these posts regular evening working is required and some shift patterns will include weekend duties. While all staff members will have a ‘home library’, cross-site working is required and will sometime occur at short notice.
There are three posts available:
LA4: Mon 09.30-13.30; Tues 16.30-20.30; Wed-Fri 09.30-13.30 based at the Strand campus. This is on a fixed term contract until 09/10/2018.
LA8: Mon-Tues 13.30-17.30; Wed 16.30-20.30; Thurs-Fri 13.30-17.30 based at the Strand campus. This is on a fixed term contract until 30/03/2018.
LA10: Sun 1000-1800; Mon 16.30-20.30; Tues-Wed 1330-1730 based at the Strand campus. This is on a fixed term contract until 02/10/2018.
For all posts, staff will be required to work 1 evening shift 16:30-20:30 per week instead of the regular hours on that day. Early shift working (from 08.30) may also be required.
These posts are: 3 x fixed term contracts
These are part-time positions – 50% full time equivalent (17.5 hours per week)
Interviews are scheduled to be held: 7 and 8 February 2018.
